Been wanting to post this thread for a few weeks but always felt ‘nah, we are never going to win it, what’s the point?’. However, it’s Nov and we are top by 2 points. A third of the season has practically gone.
This is not ‘let’s fucking win the league’ thread of yesteryear but a point of discussion to see if we can actually maintain and build a challenge? Can we do it rather will we do it.
The key month for me is Jan as that is when we are have some big games. If we manage that we got a good run until April but at that late stage with enough momentum anything can happen. In order for us to sustain a title campaign the following has to happen:
1) We come out of the WC looking ok mentally and physically. No big injuries, no big dramas (like Saka missing a pen in the final of the WC) to our players.
2) Strengthen in Jan. This is a must for the above to be achievable.
3) City put their eyes on the CL come spring. I think this one is the big one. Pep HAS to win the CL otherwise no matter what he has achieved domestically he will be seen as a failure.
Do you believe we are in a title race and can we maintain it in 2023?
