Nelson has come on physically
Absolutely. Most energetic, mobile and zippy I have seen him in a long time, if not ever. He looked a bit more methodical in his approach too. You can see how far Saka has been able to develop (esp. tactically) with 2500+ recent minutes of experience he's soaked up. Nelson's not going to have that same luxury so he'll have it harder to polish and grow his game. Basically Turner, Holding, Lokonga, Viera, Nelson, Nketiah are responsible for their own exposure by helping to keep us in the EL. Five thirty eight has us 2nd favorites after Barcelona and I think that’s the status we have to play up to.
Thought Holding had an ugly game, and a below par season so far. He’s better than this, even as 4th choice but overall high team level this season has made it passable.
Feel for Viera; confidence looks to have taken a hit after a couple blunders strung together over Oct.
Didn’t think Nketiah was that bad, particularly first half. Probably first time I’ve seen him in the flesh and he is rapid, giving us a lot in the press.
Ref was really really bad.
Overall, nice evening at the Emirates. Zurch's support both home and away is commendable; they were jumping and singing in unison pretty much all game, though why
they felt the need to set off 12+ flares throughout the game not sure.
