I would pick the following

Turner, Cedric, Holding, Gabriel, Tierney, Lokonga, Vieira, Xhaka (c ), Nelson, Nketiah, Marquinhos

And then let some of the starters run around a bit in the second half to warm up for Forest.

Jesus, Saka and the rest of the big guns should be tucked in at home by the time this one starts. We can get a draw with this team as well if not we will beat Zurich at home easy.

I suspect he plays one of the captains whatever happens. And the loser will most likely be Xhaka. But would be better for someone else to come in. Both Smith and Cirjan played last night, but should be enough time for a turnaround for one of them I imagine.

Need to play a semi strong team here again and then rest everyone against Zurich before the Chelsea game. Job isn't done until it's done. PSV have some tricky wingers and that will likely be their method of attack so need to shut that down which means not playing Cedric.

I'd go with:

Turner

White - Holding - Tomi - Tierney

Odegaard - Sambi - Vieira

Nelson - Eddie - Martinelli

Take off first teamers by the 60th min.

Expect all of the normal starting ten outfielders to get some minutes at some point.

Don't mind us starting a weaker team and bringing on first XI players in the last 30 mins. Hopefully the other players can do a job for us and see us through. Really need our players as well rested as possible going into the next few weeks.

If we keep doing this expect more struggles at the weekends. Hopefully Forrest at home will be easy enough to get away with it but we cannot do it next week against Zurich with Chelsea coming after.

Yeah, but we saw in the last 2 games that we ran out of energy in second half.

I don't buy that, HS. We got sloppy, but I don't believe it was fatigue. Partey was the sloppiest and he didn't start midweek.

I think lack of CM & Wide forward is starting show. Especially with Elneny & ESR out, those two would have played a bigger part in the Europa matches.

Our squad isn't ready imo to compete on two fronts, need 2/3 players in before we can.

That's actually a pretty strong team. I think the fact that Juve & Barca crashed out of the CL influenced this. We want to make sure we dont face them too early.

Nice. I think our aim has always been to top the group for obvious reasons. Being able to rest everyone we need to next week would be a bonus too.

I like that team, balanced in that we:

rest Saka/Jesus (much needed)
don’t risk Partey (need him for the league and in particular Chelsea)
put pressure on Nketiah, Tierney, Viera, and Lokonga to earn more minutes

Thanks! Shame for him given his limited opportunities. If he's out next week, wonder if we'll give Hein a run-out (assuming all goes to plan today)?
