I'm feeling a tiny bit tense about this match for a few reasons.

First it's Liverpool and our record against them has been shocking. Second, we seem nailed on to start the day behind City in the league standings. Third, all the success we've enjoyed lately has raised the stakes for the season.

Klopp's been into the mind games in the leadup interview, praising Arteta faintly, singling out Ødegaard for attention as he previously has done with Martinelli, playing the underdog and so on. Annoying man.

Back in reality, the bookmakers don't have us installed as heavy favourites to win. Seems to me it'll be a much more dynamic, contested match than the Spurs one just gone with Conte's negative tactics.

Not sure on team news yet, though I know Zinchenko is likely out.

A confident win here would be a big statement for our season and our standing in the league. Bring it on.

Our recent record is shocking, over a span of 7 games we haven’t even scored past them since September 2020!

This is probably the best time to play them in the last 5 years.

I hope Arteta showed the players the video of Napoli 4-1 Liverpool last month. Never seen Liverpool get destroyed so much like that night.

Hell, a crisis ridden and out of sorts Man Utd have them a game too. No reason why we can’t.

Heard Thiago may be out of this one which would be huge for us.

I want revenge for the shenanigans of ‘covid gate’ last Jan when Klopp that cunt faked their tests and got our game moved.

This game should be like when Federer beat Sampras in Wimbledon 2001, a real ‘changing of the guards’ moment.

I don’t just want to beat them, I want us to destroy them on Sunday.

klopp has been the bane of our existence since coming to Liverpool. if we mashed them like 3-0 it would be a strong statement that we are the coming team, and their place as city's challengers is under serious threat

I think we'll win. Stop looking at old history, and instead look at how the teams are playing now. We are dominating most matches completely, while Liverpool look flat and slow. If we can get the first goal, I wouldn't be surprised if we win comfortably by 2-3 goals.

Too many mistakes are made at the back still, even with Saliba and a more stable group of players. I do not trust us to keep a clean sheet, but if we score first, it may not matter as we did with Spurs.

Despite our start our objective is still fourth, so in some ways a loss, even at home, to Liverpool shouldn’t matter too much.

But geez a win would help wouldn’t it.

Bothered me a lot less than last season because right now why would a player want to swap Arsenal for Liverpool? Klopps looks like he's flizzling out after 7 years as usual. Maybe he's just buttering them up for when he's managing in Spain soon?

Massive game tomorrow, this will be our biggest test of the season. Last season we were superb for 45 mins at home and then two quick goals killed us off. In that game Odegaard missed a massive chance and they scored soon after. We will get chances in the game but need to be clinical.

Big game for sure, it's in this match we've been lacking recently so need to perform and this Liverpool side have never been more vulnerable. Wet really need to deliver in this moment especially at home.

Klopp has been sounding really rattled this season, even when he gives his pressers he rambles around to an extraordinary extent. But his modus operandi is always to say things that are apparently nice or complimentary but aimed at getting under the skin.

Don't have any idea what to expect in this match. I don't believe Liverpool are actually a faded force, in decline maybe but they've got what it takes to beat us if they add a few things up. Could go in any direction.

I am very confident because we are at home. The fans have really given players legs this season. We will not be outrun by them at home and I will be surprised if we are outfought too. I am seeing this as just more than a possible easy run to the top 4 season and if we beat Pool too, will just add to that optimism. One match at a time but I am very confident we have the better personnel overall, the stronger momentum and more confidence at present.

Waking up at half eight on the weekend is great when it's a half twelve kick off, less so when there's seven and a half hours to kill. Big opportunity for the boys today, hopefully they can take it.

Yep and I also think we have it in us to "outplay" them. However I still have huge doubts about our in-game management based on the matches against Man United and Spurs (yes even the Spurs match). We tend to overcommit and leave ourselves exposed to the counter when we absolutely don't need to.

They have a wealth of superb forwards. Get a few things wrong and they will score two, three goals easily enough.

I reckon their defence is going to be shitting itself, though. If we can retain the ball, keep it in their defensive third, and move it laterally with a constant threat the way we have been doing, they will be struggling to keep up before too long.
