Great result but that performance was so good. Not scintillating football throughout, but Controlball in full display. Everyone was good but Gabriel and Saliba absolutely dominated at the back. Xhaka very good too in midfield.

I don't even want to mention the name but we'll lose loads across the board when a certain CM gets injured again. The amount of times he relieves pressure with a feint and/or wins the ball back is unreal

At the same time, his distribution was disappointing yet again. Nothing particularly incisive and when he did try something more ambitious, he misplaced them. Would happily rotate with Sambi who at the very least needs more minutes to develop.

Nothing against Sambi but the gulf in class between the two is huge.

I personally think our season largely depends on Jesus and Partey staying fit.

Equally as dangerous with his momentary lapse of concentration right in front of our box before recovering just enough to poke it back to the keeper. Don’t want to be down on him, but for someone of his talent he can be frustrating at times.

Really enjoy our football, our team and our spirit at the moment from front to back. The way the players conferred after Saliba's goal went in is indicative, we're playing together and with focus, some signs of trust and communication out there that you feel like we've missed for a long time. We made it a shit day for Brentford today, they didn't have a chance. Disappointed we didn't find a fourth to hammer home our superiority.

Vieira was looking pretty tidy before that sidewinder, he offers something a bit different more vertical, maybe a touch less cultured but more direct than Ødegaard. Terrific performance from our central defence too.

Also hate to say it, but if Xhaka keeps on like this for the rest of the year I may have to forgive him.

you all need to dead that farmers, butchers and bankers BS said about other leagues when these players come in and do the exact same thing in the PL that they were doing in those leagues. haaland is out there making premier league defense look shit and we're still on this elitist nonsense. outside a few top performing clubs, the premier league is a bunch of overpaid shitsters from those farmers leagues.

Also, our early chance is just another example of why a Martinelli isn’t ready to be a CF.

He’s a sharp finisher, and has drive to soccer. but you can tell he struggles to finish in crowded spaces. To me he’s likely a few years away from developing confidence to overcome that.
