By winning, Spurs organised themselves a much easier group of potential opponents. Milan and maybe Dortmund/Salzburg are probably the most threatening options they could face. Farce

You're not getting it. Spurs probably had at worst 20-30% change of winning that final when they were there. That the most likely outcome happened doesn't retroactively show that they had 0 chance. The CL final will always have a decent chance of both teams winning.

20 percent chance in the final? It was a 1 percent chance they got through to it after that miracle v Ajax.

Spurs won’t do anything in the CL. Maybe quarters at best depending on draw.

I'm in both camps. I don't expect Spurs to make too much noise in the knock outs, i'd expect them to struggle against any decent side they come up against. So on one hand i'm sort of relived they're not dropping down to Europa, which obviously would've been an easier trophy for them to win.

But to write them off completely is a bit foolish. We saw Villareal reach the semis last season. There's no reason at all that Spurs couldn't stumble their way through to the final again if they get a favourable draw. And as Quince says, if you make it that far then you're in with a shot, which is more than i'm comfortable with them having.

You've just negated your argument that they have zero chance with that. The fact that you say they only had a 1% chance to go through Vs Ajax and still came back from a big deficit so late on shows that there is always a chance when you're playing knockout cup football.

Teams in Europe are a bit shit this season so they probably have a better chance than you'd instinctively think they do, but if Spurs were to win the CL then they'd be the worst team to win it since Porto, and the football they play is a couple of levels below that too.

BTW Sicario take is weird itself because after every match 3 seasons ago when Spurs progressed he was so worried about them winning, especially once they were in the final. Now he says its 1%

Spurs have a -200% chance of winning the CL ffs, biggest bottlers in the country plus a manager whose record in Europe and knockout tourneys is dogshit.

Their only saving grace was they played Marseille who are the biggest bottlers in the world. Dominated most of the game yet manage to finish last like they always do, forget about Guendouzi how do you have one defender in your half at the end of the game like that

Tudor is really a terrible coach by the way. No structure whatsoever to their play. I mean although they were a Kolasinac howler away from topping the group but seriously watching them play is nonsense.

If you can't win it at least don't lose it and go out of Europe entirely

To be fair when you have Kolasinac, Guendouzi, Sanchez and Tavares in the team I'm not sure how much structure you can expect... some of the most positionally ill disciplined/naïve, individually minded players we've had 😆

Marseille were really good in both games vs Frankfurt. Two out of three wins in the group overall came against them ironically but I thought they were the best team we've played, Spurs were extremely negative away and fluked goals and pens at home, home vs Sporting was a self destruction job and away they were dominated.

Guendouzi had a shocker yesterday but scored a nice goal last week in Frankfurt and Tavares is after Harit the best attacker they have. They're just cursed in Europe since they "won" their inaugural CL

5 goals and a million subs in the second half of the Madrid game but the ref only gave 1m stoppage time.

Which I'd normal when a team is being battered to save them any further embarrassment.

That said the ref blew the whistle on the stroke of 90m, didn't even wait a couple seconds of the stoppage time to pass.
