I mean how delicious does that set of fixtures look on current form? I'm going to go for 13 points to account for an unforeseen slip up but really I'm thinking 15. Bournemouth might be more worrying during a downturn in the winter but with confidence high and everyone fit and fresh we should win really. United you never know, how many times have we played them in a sorry state and still come away with nothing? But you'd like to think enough has changed for us to really hammer home the gap between the two sides. The home games should all be wins really.

Might seem unrealistic to essentially predict 6 or 7 wins out of our first 7 but the fixtures get considerably tougher on paper after this prior to the World Cup break, so we need to take advantage of this.

But seriously, anything less than 13 points is a failure in present circumstances.

Yep. Main thing is to be going into that October we've got—home fixtures against Spurs, Liverpool and City over three weeks among others—in a strong position.

Scraping 5+ points from those top table matches after a strong start would put this whole season on a good track.

I do think as shit as United are they'll probably have sorted themselves out to some extent by the time we play them too, don't expect to see a team as bad as this weekends against us.

There was a string of 3 games in April last season that had 6+ points written all over them… Palace (a), Brighton (h), Southampton (a)… remember how that went ? In French, we say: « il ne faut pas vendre la peau de l’ours avant de l’avoir tué »!

They have Liverpool at home and then Southampton and Leicester away, not the easiest way to work yourself into some form.

To be honest I could forgive a game like Cheslea-Tottenham yesterday where we dominate but fail to win for whatever reason. But I'd hate a mental capitulation like last season.

Right? Been thinking that for a while. The pattern with United has been similar for years, they sign up some coach with great credentials, maybe a touch flaky, maybe not, but either way the man's gone stark raving mad within half a season. Solskjaer bucked the trend if anything.

if you don't get 15 points from those easy fixtures, you have to make up the points you dropped in tougher fixtures. just win these easy games. we're actually trying to return to the champions league. anything less than 15 is europa at the end of the season for us.
