Whether the figures are exactly accurate or not isn't the point - the wage bill has significantly decreased in recent years. That's a fact.

I agree that our wage bill is on a much more secure footing. I'm guessing Partey/Jesus/Pepe among our best paid players and probably on less than £200k.

I don’t really get the Arteta hates midfielders narrative. He’s signed Partey, Sambi, Odegaard and now Vieira for a combined £120m odd. Despite his supposed fetish for centre backs he’s not spent nearly as much in that area.

Yeah, the wages Lacazette was getting have effectively gone to Jesus. Pépé is a little way behind those two, but still clear in third - it's why we can't find a club that will go near him. It's sad for him and a bad situation for us.

If I'm not wrong SR already confirmed those numbers are very very wide of the mark and doesn't take into account of the players we paid off or are still paying to play for other clubs

It's almost certainly our wage bill minus Aubameyang's huge contract, so it would have increased a little this summer.

Regardless, our wage bill is a ton lower than it was, and moving forward we need to get back into the Champions League so that we can increase it.

Still another 15-20m to go out the door as well. We really are in a healthy position squad wise. Young players on normal salaries. Should get good money in theory if there is a need to sell.

Need to bare in mind potential increases for Saka, Martinelli and Saliba. I think Saka in particular will be in high demand soon and will want a hefty increase.

still yet to offload pepes salary as well. a few of the youngsters will be getting quite a jump in salary in the next 1-2 years. all in all it does look like we have a good amount of wage space to play with. the kroenkes have bought into edus 'fuck them off by any means necessary' approach thats enabled us to slash the wage bill rapidly
