I sort of assumed that thinking our treatment of Aubemeyang being harsh was a twitter thing, i didn't realise there were actually adults that still think the club was in the wrong.
Where's the line? Somewhere above not turning up to training, being late to games and refusing to explain your absence but below rejecting being used as a sub? I don't think anything Auba did was as bad as what Ronaldo did, but unless you know something we don't, it sounds like there was a bit more to Auba's situation than even what i've mentioned above.
The comparison was made because it doesn't actually matter what either of them did. If you have a player who doesn't respect the manager, the club, their teammates and the fans enough to do what they're paid to do, and they're unwilling to compromise, or even bother to provide an explanation, then there is only one option, and it looks like two clubs in the space of a year are taking it. Commendable approach from ETH and United.
From an Arsenal perspective I'd much prefer they just let it ride and brought Ronaldo straight back in, and i'm sure with hindsight there are probably a bunch of neutrals who wish we would have had stuck it out with Auba for a bit longer too, especially considering our turnaround since he got the boot.
