My point was not about how teams play football. It was about how we could predict the impact of players arriving from other leagues. It is a relevant, empirical fact that not all players who excel elsewhere are able to do so in England.
It’s a well documented fact. Lots of data looking at player movements across the big five leagues. Bundesliga tends to perform weakest in both directions across the big leagues when you look at the increase or decrease of expected outputs from players. Premier League and La Liga perform strongest. I’m surprised we are still having this debate. The Sancho and Mkhitaryan effects are not just anecdotal
Wonder how the Ligue 1 compares? If there's an overrated league or group, it's the French. They're the modern day Brazilian's. Every second kid in the league is considered a wonder kid. Most of them turn out to be fake impressions. Remember the group of chaps who were all heralded the next Zidane? Gourcuff, Nasri, Ben Arfa, Cheyrou, Le Tallec, Menez. So many wanabees. Only guy from that so called golden generation that became top class was Benzema.
We're seeing it again regarding their defenders;
Konate, Upamecano, Saliba, Fofana, Kounde, Hernandez, Ndicka.
Most these guys going to end up as pretenders. Only one or two guys will likely turn out being the real deal.
