I know Daz but that's the whole point I'm making. These guys have women literally lining up to be with them (whether for them or their status, money whatever) and they feel they need to do something like this. Mind boggling how disturbed people need to be to do something like that.

I get your explanation, but for me saying they are "resorting to rape" falls into the territory (even if unintended) of dangerous misconception that risks diluting the deliberate and often premeditated actions involved.

Well to be fair the only reason we're hearing about it is because millions of people know the player. If it were some bloke across the street people wouldn't realise it either way.

There have been situations like this in the past turn out either way, there have been Mendy and Sigurdsson on one hand and Neymar as the other extreme or RVP in the past. Let's hope this plays out the other way

I'm not explaining or trying to dilute anything Daz, I'm actually questioning the mindset of people who do these things despite the positions they find themselves. Whatever the situation is regarding their ability to attract women, they are all sick individuals and I'd appreciate it if you did not make it sound like I am defending their actions or somehow lessening the gravity of the situation or the suffering the victim is going through.

But just to be clear, for me, regardless if it is someone with tons of options or some guy that has zero social skills, anyone who ends up raping does so in a deliberate and calculated manner, no dilution needed. This applies whether it's a wealthy/famous/attractive person who does to feel power over someone you or whether its some creep who decidew to rape because he can't normally attract a woman. Both sick individuals.

You never know but the story from The Sun doesn't sound good with the victim having pictures of bruising etc.

All good mate, I didn't mean to suggest that was your intent so I apologise if that's how it came across. I just think we should always be mindful about how we talk about these situations. The notion that attractive/rich/famous blokes can easily get women and therefore wouldn't need to rape them is still pretty pervasive in society. It's so pervasive that it's been used as part of defence strategies in some high profile cases here in the recent past.
Anyway, I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment of your second paragraph.

29yo arrested in Barnet, will play in the WC leaves only two or three players of which the others couldn't have been arrested yesterday as they are abroad. Speculation online has been rife for a full day without player or club debunking it, doesn't look good right now.

Still incredible, the guy just got married ffs. Obviously doesn't keep you from doing something like that but adds another dimension of hurt. Just have to hope this can get cleared up soon one way or the other
