Think he'd be a decent signing - but not sure if he really moves the needle. He's essentially a versatile cover man from a squad perspective.

£30m is steep for Zinchenko but I guess it's less than we would have paid for Martinez.

Maybe we endured too much Wenger penny-pinching but I do find it painful to see how poor we are at negotiating deals these days. It's become even worse post-Dick Law...who'd have thought it?

Hopefully, there will come a day soon where selling clubs don't smell the desperation in our negotiating team.

Yeah it's really steep for someone City don't want and is just a utility player for them. Fee is in the region of what I expected we will over pay to get done though quickly and that's what we does now since we have buckets of cash. I do admire that nowadays we tried for our first choice first and when we got beat we quickly moved to secure our 2nd choice. It was the same with White and Ramsdale. Interesting to see who will be our backup option behind Raphinha.

But good signing nevertheless. Very underrated here. I think he can easily be our first choice mid ahead of Xhaka. We are trying for another CB that can play LB it seems so not necessarily Zinchenko will play LB

He's excellent. Great vision, first touch, passing etc. Really smart player. If he was spanish, everyone would be raving about him.

I would be fairly pleased with that, but it still hinges on Partey being cleared.

Yeah, we'd be transformed with e.g. Paqueta in addition to Zinchenko, absolutely.

Hope we can still expect another CM.
