I know Haller has been decent elsewhere but his previous stint in the PL wasn't a great endorsement and at this point he's potentially the wrong age profile. Can't say I know anywhere near enough about Adeyemi so would have to take your word.

He played for a shit West Ham side, you wouldn't pass up on Salah or KDB either because they failed at Chelsea first time around would you

I'd argue that neither Salah not KDB got a fair shot at Chelsea.

Haller didn't get any chance whatsoever at West Ham too. Just wasn't Moyes cup of tea since he wasn't bought by him.

Anyway Jesus is ours now and its good to have some Brazilian swag together with Raphinha. Add Martinez and Latin FC incoming.

Haller was just a bit too sluggish for the Prem I think, especially in a team like West Ham who want to abuse the CF to do a lot of grunt work like they do with Antonio.

Let’s hope the the same applies to Jesus, I do think in the right team someone rounded like him can explode.

Haller got plenty of chances at West Ham - in the 18 months he was there, he played in almost fifty league games and scored 10 goals.

That's if you see the stats on its surface. Most of his starts came under Pellegrini who bought him. When Moyes came over he had 10 starts and 14 subs, averaging around 58min per match. No rhythm whatsoever to build. It's the same with Pepe, if you look at his stats on the surface it says he played in 80 league games, scored 16 goals and 9 assists. Very decent stats as a winger but we all know thats not the case.

Moyes prefer Antonio like what Goon said to do the dirty work and is much more mobile. Haller is a target man and is much better for a possession based team. Other than West Ham he is pretty much prolific everywhere.

You can’t argue the point that Haller would be a gamble. Based on facing defenders in a faster league like the prem, Haller did not look great.

I think to argue against the Jesus transfer, you have to see who could you would buy for sure. Adeyemi would have been great, but he was nailed on for BVB seemingly.

The fact Chelsea are being linked with CR7 and Barca got in Auba and are linked with Lewy, shows that there aren’t many ready made strikers out there, whoever comes in is a project to a certain extent.

I am not arguing for Haller instead of Jesus to be clear. Just pointing out that Don was misguided on Haller the last 2 points.

His age profile probably don't suit us at this point.

Adeyemi on the other hand though.... what a talent. The kind Dortmund will flip for 100m again next time around

Oh yeah, Adeyemi looks a class prospect, would have loved him.

Even that Alvarez guy City signed looks very interesting.

We probably should be looking in South America for an interesting prospect.

I'm a bit more up for this signing now, having seen more vids.

Think he's a clever all-rounder. Still also need to sign Raphinha/the equivalent if we're going to see a step-change in our attacking play, though.

Brilliant signing. Really chuffed about this.

Yeah, happy with this signing. He will improve us and our approach play. Hopefully, he can explode here and become a prolific goalscorer too. He looked such a top prospect when he came to the League. He is smart and has great movement. Motivation is the question coming from all the titles at City but this is a World Cup year.

Still don't buy the motivation thing. He could've kept collecting titles at City while on the bench or gone for a free transfer next season which would've let him choose among more clubs, but he wants to play.

I have my issues with him as previously mentioned but I don't think we'll find him lacking in effort.

I don't think he lacks motivation, he's an extremely hard worker, I just don't think he has the personality to drag us through games. I'm also a bit worried that he prefers playing on the wing.
