Anyway don't really care about the price if we get our CM and fullback all in. He is definitely better than Nketiah. Klaus prediction won't happen because Arteta will play Jesus most of the time, good or bad form.

We will still need a 9 next year. But we almost got Top 4 with Lacazette leading the line, Jesus is much better then him, he can move around, run for 90 minutes and actually has a first touch. Another winger that scores and the very important CM, and it's looking good.

They are all good signings on their own sure, if we can get all the targets in even Arteta can't fuck us up anymore. Quality would be there naturally.

I think Jesus will struggle to hit double digits for us. Not because he's shit per se more that he's 100% not the type of player to thrive regardless of system and manager.

Nine goals in the league, including a brace on match day 38 to fire us into the ECL.

If he can recapture his form from his first two seasons at City, which hopefully will come with being picked consistently at CF, then this is a very good deal. Up to Arteta to bring that out of him again now.

this kind of my bugbear with many of the players we're signing. Vieira, Gabriel, Martinez. all of them are utility players and it's not entirely clear which gaps they're actually going to plug. we all have assumptions/suppositions on the most likely positions they'll be deployed, but nothing is guaranteed with this manager. would I be surprised to see jesus playing on the wing, or Martinez benching gabriel at LCB? not in the slightest, and that's kind of a problem

I'm not sure that's an issue. One of the valid criticisms of the team is that we can be tactically inflexible and with more players capable of playing multiple positions, my hope would be that that gives us more options.

definitely feels like a reputation defining buy for arteta and edu. if this guy doesn't deliver for us, I hope our intrepid owners wake up and realise just how much they've lumped on the wrong horse

it's not about flexibility for me, it's about finding definitive solutions that fill gaps where we're weak. if what I mentioned happens, and these utility players just end up doubling up in areas we're already covered in, it's poor use of capital. like if vieira ends up being a 35m understudy to odegaard, I could think of a few better uses for that money.

I doubt it, they’ll just spend another £100m of that mad Walmart money on another CF, and claim Jesus adds depth.

He's only hit double digits twice in 6 years at City. I think he'll score 12ish for us, the thing for me is I think if you gave Eddie the same minutes he'd outscore him.

Aye, strikes me as a stop gap signing. They tried for Vlahovic and after failing to get him, I guess they don't feel any the current alternatives are worth going big on. I don't see us having Jesus and Nketiah as our two 2 strikers for very long.

If you look at the Vlahovic offer and others that were on our shortlist like DCL, Scamacca, Abraham, etc its certainly a different profile.
