You have to credit the teams character after the last 2 wins too. Both really scrappy games where keeping your head up and keeping on fighting and overcoming set backs is important.

Next week Tomi will finally surely start. Personally I would put Saka on left back because even without him in the attack we have ESR, Pepe and Martinelli to choose from on the flanks.

Ironic that we're looking better going forward but looking shakey defensively now. Mind you Tomi for Cedric will go half way towards resolving that.

Ramsdale grew into the game after a shakey start, Gabriel was good aside from the goal, Elneny wasn't great but did a job, Xhaka was good, Odegaard sublime, Saka was terrific whenever he got the ball and I thought Eddie did a lot of good grunt work and holdup play.

Come on Brentford.

Yup. I mean they were clearly nervous, but overcoming that for periods to win requires character in itself.

Is he out of contract in the summer? Well yeah, he shouldn't get a new one, but we need at least two midfielders as it is, if we sell Xhaka, who might fetch us a few million contrary to Elneny, I actually wouldn't be opposed to keeping him around as like 6th choice midfielder on a cheap deal.

Said at half time we weren't flattered by the scoreline and in the second half I thought we were clearly the better team after managed to survive their decent 10 minutes or so.

Big difference was they dropped their heads after the pen miss. We kept on trucking.

Great result and United haven't been a great team for a while so good to finally get the result. Still the match did not play out in the best way and defensively we don't look great but thankfully we've exploited the two awful defensive teams we've played in United and Chelsea.

But still difficult to know whether this would carry us through other games because we've probably been better offensively but then we've played teams more likely to try and attack us

What exactly is he fuming about? The penalty shout on Elanga? He'd have given one away every other game if that's a penalty! The only wrong decision today was Fernandes not getting a straight red. But I guess United aren't used to a fair referee in games against Arsenal.

Maybe. Then again there is a difference playing against teams that attack you and try to keep possession against you which we've generally done well against vs teams that sit back and hit you on the break like Palace and Brighton which we labour to break down.

To be fair the ref was absolutely atrocious again today, just that they benefited from it as much as we did
