It's not always that simple Kurt. If the player is adamant he's fit, then it will be very hard for physios/manager to disprove that unless it's something ckear like a broken bone, or damage to muscle/tissue following another MRI. I have sympathy with coaches in those situations, not so much when its a case of getting a player back who needs injections just to play so is clearly not fit.
I guess, Sanchez was probably a prime example for that, I remember Wenger mentioning something of the sort with him. I wish we'd learn from our mistakes though, and be more careful with key players. I'd rather be too careful at this point, years and year of injuries to key players have scarred me 😆 Tomiyasu still not even on the bench, I just can't help but think that could have been avoided, but I'm probably being overly harsh, it's likely just a bit of a freak injury.
After looking at the team sheet, I'm no longer as confident, Elneny and Xhaka in the middle... Good to see Eddie get the start though, I thought he was decent enough against Southampton and he should be fit and motivated. I don't like Martinelli being on the bench though, think we need him today and ESR is in bad form.
