Moving on...

After the City game I basically would have considered this a foregone conclusion, now I'll take any sort of win going into the break.

Doesn't sound like we have any real options at all in terms of the line-up, so I expect to see an unchanged side from yesteryday. Hopefully the likes of Tomi and ESR will have shaken off the cobwebs. On the plus side Burnley are not exactly coming into this in the best shape either and have lost their £30m start striker Chris Wood.

Looking back, it looks like that City loss knocked the stuffing out of us. We haven’t scored/won since and done a ‘Wenger’ in getting knocked out of two tournaments in basically a week/10 days.

Need to get back on track on Sun.

A win and 1/2 new signings and we go into the second half of the season with momentum which is crucial at this stage.

Yeah that's clearly part of the plan. Would be hilarious if Burnley went and succeeded in reinvesting that money in better players, Cornet has been a success for them showing there are players who aren't represented by the EDL agency they normally buy from

Allegedly they already tried to sign Azmoun from Zenit as Wood's replacement

As we know, ALL our top 4 rivals are facing each other this weekend so it’s imperative we win as at least two of our rivals will drop points.

Plus we don’t want to go into the Wolves game having not won in 2022 thus far.

You scoff but its good long term planning, last time Wood was in the Championship he scored 27 goals for the season, that will be well worth the £30m in Newcastles promotion quest next season.
