Agreed but from the sounds of it Roma wanted him now or never and Ainsley understandably begged Arteta to be let go (again).

Well this is the problem with never rotating. You have to manage your squad better, everyone needs decent back ups. There was no reason to give Elneny minutes in the last few weeks when he wasn't even going to be around for this period.
100% I'd rather give Ainsley mins over Elneny, but I'm not convinced the 100 odd mins that Elneny got over Ainsley would have made much difference. I don't even think more of Lokonga's mins would have shifted the needle much, he wants to start every game at this stage of his career.
