This transfer window seems likely to dispel:
any talk of KSE being prepared to provide funding; and
previous comments of top players wanting to join us;.
Saw some comments that suggest Edu may be in the cross-hairs, as he supposedly took the Juve proposal re Arthur (18 month loan and 40m obligation to buy) to the BoD and was rejected. Also talk Tomi and Ramsdale are Arteta's picks whereas Edu wanted Royal and Neto, having previously been involved with the transfers of Willian and Luiz under Sanllehi. General inference being of Edu sticking close to his countrymen in terms of transfer options, but not in terms of suitability re our transfer strategy nor in regards to quality or bargains, with the 2 exceptions being Martinelli & Gabriel.
That aside the current 'talk' has a sense of desperation as we continue to purge our squad, with more players continuing to leave despite no incomings as yet. If this talk is our first approach for this transfer window, then I do not like our chances of getting anyone to actually resolve any of our current issues to take the team to the next level regarding top4 & UCL.
