Sunderland really looking like a league 1 side. Severely out of their depth technically in the first 5 mins
No surprise that Nketiah is through the middle.
Lovely ball from Odegaard out to Balogun there. Leads to a decent cross from Cedric to Nketiah but he’s under pressure and can’t keep the header down. Good leap though.
What a disgraceful dive.
Team hounding opposition players of the ball with confidence and belief. Just a hint, but a good sign.
White has really good awareness when he's running back toward his own goal. Love his calmness. It makes the odd dive in he does perplexing.
Ricochet onto the bar! Close
Shame Pepe doesn't have a great right foot.
This half will be a bit about our attackers figuring out high spaces to run into. A couple of examples of them getting in each other’s way so far - to be expected with a heavily rotated starting XI.
Ødegaard in temperament and style really reminds of Fabregas at around the same age.

That's possibly the weakest part of his game imo. Especially when he gas to do it on the back foot. .
Hope to see Balogun and Nketiah exchange positions from time to time. Think Balogun has better strength, balance and hold up play while Nketiah is better suited to play wide between the two.
Heh, Pepe trips himself to win a free kick.
Pépé takes up really poor defensive positions. He basically creates passing opportunities for Sunderland.
Eddieeeeeee
NKETIAHHHHH
He always scores in the league cup
Great header from a corner by Holding and Eddie is there to knee home the rebound save.
Eddie, the fox in the box!
Nketiahhhhhh..... Holding for once got a good header in.
