Sicario2 Undoubtedly would have been better off. Both had similar minutes per goal in the PL and if you exclude penalties they both scored 11 in the PL. Gyokeres is superb at penalties though. Gyokeres is a better finisher if he has the space but Sesko hold up play, strength and pace far superior.
The price and him not fully being onboad in particular meant we were probably right to move on. Saying that the price in hindsight might have been about right as the market moved upwards on strikers. If we had gone in earlier I think we could have got a slightly better deal especially if the player pushed for it.
Gyokeres imo won’t have a better season whereas at least with Sesko you look at someone who is 23 and will only get better. Though I’d argue Sesko still has a lot of improving to do. Ekitike is the one who has impressed me the most. Looks a real good player in the making.
