They should be given a fair amount of chance to compete, AMN has done well everytime he has played at CM for us and today he is easily MOTM. Looks like Lokonga is quite ahead in the pecking order though unfortunately.

Once again in that shoot out most, if not all, left footers went to their right (keepers left). And Forster went the other way on all of them. Seriously, watch left footers take pens - it's well over half go to their right. I did see a left footer go to his left recently, and it was quite surprising.

Pépé and Martinelli need these sorts of fixtures to polish their game. Need not be so disgruntled by the two from last night. Just let them accumulate minutes and learn. Martinelli's second wind in the second half was promising. Kolasinac also had an unremarkable game, but as thats an outgoing waiting to happen, less of a priority. No Europe is such a blow in terms of just player development for a green squad.

I thought Martinelli was really bright actually. Things didn't really come off for him but he was positive in how he played, always trying to make things happen, not shying away from responsibility. I hope he gets more minutes off the bench in the league between now and the AFCON.
