And yet when theu came oit after half-time, after Arteta has got into them, we play aggressively on the front foot, 30 yards further up the pitch. The question for me is why the fuck we drop back as the half wears on? I'm certain it's not by design, so why does it keep happening?

If it's not by design its either bad tactical message to the players where they can't absorb the instructions or simply inadequate coaching to play what we want to.
