That will be intriguing flobs, though I do feel we'll be presented with the same key problems that Hodgson's Palace gave us last time. I was steaming at how we made Ward and Tomkins look as we tried to progress down our left last time. I am most keen to see what answers we produce this time around and of course a win positions us well for the 'kiss of death' pathway. Our defense hasn't conceded much so far, and we'll have a tougher test than Brighton shutting down Zaha, Edouard and Ayew front line. Against Brentford this weekend, Tuchel concealed any of his side's softness going with the toughest personnel he could call upon into a 3-5-2 formation. I am not necessarily advocating for an approach that maximizes our physicality, but I really hope Arteta is not going to be naive. He does find ways to disappoint.

Just checked the schedule and we have Villa on Friday, now how has that happened? FA and broadcasters can do one.

It’s the attack I’m seriously worried about. Arteta has shown in the past he can park a bus if he feels he needs to. Worst case scenario he returns to fa cup winning tactics.

That attack has to start looking coherent soon, and after all the time off I’d like to see what he has figured out to address this problem.

I dont mind the other game during the week. The guys are still relatively fresh and we have to be fit enough to play at least 2 games a week occasionally right? As the teams we aspire to be are doing every other week or so?

need to start seeing an uptick in chances and shots in home games. good a game as any to start showing progress on that front

I'd like to see the Burnley line up in this one, the midfield with Partey, Lokonga and Odegaard just doesn't attack enough, nor does it dominate the possession. Why spend so much on new players in the back 5 if we aren't going to trust them?

100%.

Any sort of good form is not sustainable unless we show we can regularly create chances and be provocative in possession. Brighton away is one thing but at home to Palace we absolutely have to be aggressive, play a high line and encourage movement.

Monday start is welcome for once, loads of the lads were away on internationals. Partey even scored twice 😆

From the lads I wanna see better decisions and execution on transitions. Better movement in the final third. Better shots from distance when we're mixing it up. Support those under pressure from a press.

From the coach I wanna see faster responses to clear on the pitch issues.

There'd better be goals from the team!

Pépé in for Lokonga the only change from last time. That's our best XI out there tonight, and no Zaha for Palace. This really should be a convincing win.

Definitely. Pépé can still do damage out on the left, especially with Tierney helpijg him. But getting the best out of Saka is what really matters.
