Absolutely. The BBC headline sums it up - "wasteful Brighton held to a goalless draw by Arsenal". It's sad, we are meant to be a big club.

Decent point away from home against a good side. Thought Partey and Odegaard struggled today, though the former got better as the game wore on, but felt like the biggest difference. Doesn’t help that they went from having oceans of space against Spurs to some very close attention from Brighton, but we didn’t help our selves with the touches etc. though I’m sure the rain played it’s part there. Didn’t feel like we pressed high enough either, which I find odd.

Not really interested in getting into the rest of the big picture ‘analysis’.

Most notable individual moment is Ramsdale with another super intervention.

Where they? Got into a few good positions and generally dominated play but their chances were largely unthreatening. Their biggest chance would or should have been called a foul.

Leaving aside the intricaties of the game today, the most damning stat about Arsenal is that we've scored 5 goals in 7 games this season. The only clubs that have scored fewer are Norwich and Tottenham, and Spurs have a game in hand.

You can make allowances here and there, argue that conditions on the pitch on this particular day weren't favorable or that our fixture schedule was tough, but ultimately what we offer going forward is pathetic and it's been that way for over a year. We're on track to do much worse than the 55 goals we ended up scoring last season unless something changes.

I’ve said it before but Aubameyang is killing us. He does nothing when he’s not scoring, a complete nonentity. There’s no use getting yourself up for the NLD when you’re gonna be invisible for the other 36 games. Even when he was put through on goal he never looked like scoring, in a situation where he’s supposed to be good at.

It's not Aubameyang. It's our football. Look how quickly Brighton moved the ball in transition and compare it to how slow we were. The one-touch, facing-the-right-way football along the ground is never coming back under this manager. Half of the 8 shots we managed today were Partey shooting over the stadium from 40 yards out as usual.

There's a bad Aubameyang miss in there too and an overall very disappointing performance, but we set ourselves up to fail. There was a time not too long ago when we overwatered the grass prior to every single home game because it gave our technical players an advantage. Now we complain about the rain favouring Brighton who have a fraction of a fraction of our means.

Undeserved and lucky point away from home against Brighton Hove Albion FC is what you mean.

It’s partly Auba, but right now our football is a much more chronic emergency than the old and tired Gabonese.

There were so many points where it was obvious we couldn’t pass the ball out of defence against Brighton. Depleted Brighton.

At this stage in the development of a team. After setting up with supposedly our best ball playing and technical line up.

We had Ramsdale booting it into the wind for Auba to win headers, against Brighton’s 10 foot defenders. Bless his heart. He actually tried to try sometimes.

Quite interesting seeing the despondency from Brighton fans leaving the Amex yesterday, they felt like they dropped two points.

I saw the palace/Brighton game the other day, and palace gave them a right going over, especially in the first half. To see that Brighton team pin us back, was surprising in its completely dominant fashion.

Apart from Smith-Rowe, no one was at the races going forward, and we struggled to string two passes together.

Gabriel on the other hand was a colossus. Incredible performance from him.

While they had a lot of pressure and pot shots, in reality Brighton didn’t create a one on one chance, and we had the two best chances in the game.

That said, it was a pitiful performance from us, looking like it was the first time the players met each other.

For me Potter long term is the way to go.

They were missing 4 of their best players and struggled massively against Vieira's Palace, a young-ish team that Paddy is just getting grips with in his 5th match. Palace dominated that match which made me overconfident about this.

We were extremely lucky they kept missing easy chances, they had 4 great ones in the first half while the whole match we had really 2 half chances at best. This was as lucky a point we are going to get all season long. To spin it any other way round would be wrong.

I think the most worrying thing for me is that we have a large enough sample size by now to know that no matter who we put out, who is playing we are very conservative in the way we setup and don't play with ambition much. We excel in equal level "big" matches, get totally outclassed against teams who are far better than us and looked distinctly average against any other teams to the point its always 50-50 if we win or lose. We have all watched enough football to know that the rest of the excuses we created hasn't held up well and won't either in the future. That is our style and no amount of better players here is going to help us dominate attacking play consistently, its all coaching and its instructions.

Very tough game for tomi, but will be good for his development - glad he got away with some of the mistakes

White was very good, along with Saka and ESR despite some wastefulness in the final third

I find the rain a really weird excuse. It didn't stop Brighton from playing good passing football.

This is it. It would've been worrying enough if we only played good attacking football when all our best players are available, but we don't even do it then.

Totally agree, the idea that the rain means you can write off poor performance is crazy. There is rain the world over people will have played in it. It may make things more challenging but it doesn't just make you play automatically poorer and I don't think you can say well player x can't play in the rain so it's not about his performance.

In theory, we had our best team out, but we were still lacking in understanding and execution.

We certainly need a winger and striker, but we had enough out to play much much better.

It is a struggle to see any vision Arteta has, and a massive improvement in the future.

Defensively we are better, but that is it.

I would be prepping Potter for the job next summer.
