Yeah because he's shit. His whole career is hyped up based on a few decent weeks at Real. I still remember when half this forum were absolutely in love with him but I never seen it. Lacazette is better than Morata and that's been obvious since they both arrived in the PL in the same window.

If we sign this clown I'll be livid.

Why do they 'need' to do so?
We could string them along that we are interested and not put in an offer.
I think that turning down offers for Nketiah means we are not close to signing anyone and we are going to keep him as our backup option.

Was thinking about the whole Vlahovic embarrassment. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why clubs usually keep their cards close to their chest until the very last moments. It gives the agent less time to pull the sort of switcheroo we were subjected to. No time for Juve to prepare their own offer, no time for Vlahovic to overthink it.

Choosing to believe that’s what we are doing with our world class targets for the midfield and striker position. We’d better have a game plan to bring folks in. We’d better.

It was Vlahovic's people who leaked all that stuff though, wasn't it? I presume it was to sharpen their bargaining with Juve and also smokescreen their intentions in that regard.

A contract requires two parties so the release of any related information is never entirely in our control.

i think the issue is more than when you try to negotiate, this is what happens.

club A tells you they want £80m
you only want to pay £50m
you faff around and send offers that get rejected, and eventually someone else comes in and meets club A's price and its done.

that isnt to say that we should only be trying to buy players that have release clauses, but more that if we are going to try and save a few million pounds, we probably shouldnt bother, assuming that player is wanted by others. and if that player isnt wanted, then id have other questions to ask as well.

Leverkusen brought forward the Azmoun transfer that was supposed to happen in the summer so he’s ready to play for them now. Schick must be on the move and if that’s the case, we’d better be in for him.

I think Burnsy is right. Vlahovic only ever wanted to go to Juve and his people used us to flush them out. I doubt he would ever have come here.

Thing is when you're not the destination the player wants or that's ideal, you pretty much have to go in early anyway don't you?

Nunez and Schick would both be perfect for us and less of a risk for the price compared to Isak.

I don't know Nunez well, but I would suprised if he had close to the talent of Isak. Schick, good player though he is, certainly doesn't.

We also lack cash on hand so we are forced to negotiate payment structures once an agreement is reached for the fee.

Not seen enough of either to be perfectly honest, but from what the Serie A watchers on here tell me it sounds like Osimhen is ideal?

Would cost a fortune though, didn't Napoli pay near enough Pepe money for him?
