one position we really can't afford to balls up is lacazettes replacement, which we can look forward to finally sorting out as his contract is finally up (no renewals please brains trust)

use this thread to track the hottest strikers we should be sizing up for next season

will be interested to see how current tolly favorites DCL, vlahovic, isak and co get on, and also if we missed a trick or dodged a bullet with the likes of edouard, Abraham and daka

Other players to add to the watch list apart from the ones mentioned above and who probably would not cost a bomb.

Karim Adyemi (RB Salzburg) - German U21 who has started the new season on fire.

Kasper Dolberg (Nice) - Was always rated as a huge talent but seemed to have lost his way a bit. Lets see if Galtier can get his career on track.

And if we go big, let's do it for Richarlison. He's a bit of a dick (which would work in our favour as he comes across as a little unfancied by most big clubs - would have perfect for City as an example but they had zero interest this summer) but a pretty fantastic footballer.

My favourite young striker these days is Darwin Nunez, but way out of our range. Marcus Thuram is a more realistic option I would think.

Adeyemi is a good shout. We really need someone prolific and can bring people into play.

Would keep an eye on Toney to see how he does in PL

And José Juan Macías of Getafe. Apparently a huge talent

He's extremely flakey, no way is he good enough for City. If he came here I'd want him wide rather than upfront but right now I'd rather keep Pepe and hope Martinelli comes good.

Kasper Dolberg. Had shit luck with injuries and Covid-19 and he's been struggling a bit for his team in Nice because they created so few chances for him but his talent is unquestionable. Ice cold finisher with a great first touch. Now he's becoming a more complete striker too with good hold up play as well.

I reckon he is just about to explode under Galtier. Give him chances and he'll score loads.

liked the look of dolberg since he was the hot new thing at Ajax. will keep an eye out for him this season

He's a very good player, but he needs another high scoring season before I trust him as proper striker.

It's all about Isaak for me at this point though. As things stand, he's not completely out of reach if he were to suddenly become available because I don't think he's quite ready for the big boys - that might change by next summer though. He has all the tools to be a superstar striker, and although I do like Calvert-Lewin's power and aerial ability, he's a clogger by comparison.

if DCL replicates last seasons form, he'll have won me over a bit more. he could yet be a well styled andy Carroll, I'm still unsure

DCL would be ideal for Teta-ball but I'm hoping we aren't worrying about that by the time we sign a striker.
