Barca are in some serious shit this season but they have the foundations for a very good team in near future if someone capable can come in (manager + sporting director) thanks to some insanely talented youngsters.

Who are the insanely talented youngsters? I only rate Fati who’s coming back from an ACL and maybe Pedri. I would only take one player from their team and that’s Frenkie De Jong. Imagine saying that about Barcelona a few years ago.

Araujo looks like a good prospect, Dest would look lost for most teams but could become a great attacking full back for them. Ter Stegen is not too old to play a good role for a couple years, Dembele if he can stay fit and Pedri Fati and de Jong - far cry from the embarrassment of riches of old but talent wise they should be far from the riches of embarrassment Koeman is serving up right now

I would also add Gavi (called up for his first senior international cap today) and Nico (son of Super Depor legend Fran Gonzalez) who were promoted from the B team this season and have done well in a shambolic side.

Tactics

Yeah Gavi looks promising, skinny 17 year old that isn't afraid to get stuck in (much like Fabregas used to back in the day) and is quite mobile. He's a typical Barca midfielder that has been brought up in their system: good touch, great awareness and passing ability. He nearly scored the other day an identical goal to the one Messi scored on his debut for Barca.

They have got some very talented youngsters but their squad as a whole is a mess IMO. I think they need a coach like Ten Hag and 2-3 years of rebuilding (& smart signings) before they can have a genuine chance of winning the CL and playing the sort of football that we are all used to from Barca.

Leicester underperforming in Europe again as they lost to Legia Warsaw.

Even with a rotated side they should be beating a team who are hovering above the relegation zone in the Polish league.

Their fan base seem to be turning on Rodgers for his tactics and Maddison in particular for his recent performances.

Dodged a bullet with Maddison , would have been a colossal waste of money .

Looks to be the case doesn’t it. Is he even fully fit yet? Or is this a Kane-like slump in form reaction to not getting your desired summer transfer?

I am envious of Liverpool. Wish we could play remotely as well as them.

They have overwhelmed Simeone's Atletico so far, which rarely happens.

Tactics

Ajax have been outstanding! They have made Dortmund look like a pub side even though it's still only 2-0 (should have been more).

Their passing and positional play is among the very best in Europe IMO.

Timber is every bit as impressive as De Ligt was few seasons ago, we could have probably got him on the cheap in the summer but I can see top clubs taking a closer look at him very soon. He's relatively short ball playing CB like Ben White but is faster and more skilful on the ball.

The football Ajax are playing here is the stuff our wannabe manager can only dream of. I’d take ten Hag all day long, everyday and twice on sundays, thank you very much.

Yeah very impressed with Timber too. Really like Edson Alvarez and Gravenberg in midfield too.

Good point, and that Haller who couldn't cut it at West Ham is scoring goals for fun under him. Its impressive how he used Tadic as false 9 2 years ago to great effect and now still manage to change his tactics to get the best out of Haller a proper target man while maintaining beautiful football
