I had a print done of my favourite Arsenal XI about three years ago, it's got Cesc in there as its #10. The highest compliment I can pay Odegaard right now is that if I was doing my team today, he'd be in there ahead of Cesc (obviously, Santi stays). He's been an excellent signing for us as is, but the form he's been in recently is ridiculous and it's been a long time since I've seen anything like it from an Arsenal player. That he comes with no baggage is a lovely bonus too. He is the leader of our gang.

What a player and what a captain. Leads the way with and without the ball and the way he took our first pen was so confident and assured, it must have given our other takers a boost.

Looking at that vid, you could say he's just emotional having gone through on pens, but with the amount of running and intense pressing he does, it wouldn't be surprising if he was KOd.

I have always said that, he has Ozil's technical ability, vision, better dribbling ability and close control, but with insane work rate.

Ozil had the highest ceiling, but maybe lacked the consistency of Fabregas, Bergkamp, etc.

I wasn't even that big a fan of Ozil, but this is one of the best creative attacking midfield performances ever witnessed at Arsenal. The sequence for the third goal is one of the best creative plays I've ever seen. Right up there with Bergkamp dancing on the edge of the box against Juventus, or Wilshere tiki taka-ing against Norwich. But people hate Ozil now, so I don't expect a fair assessment.

Having said that, Odegaard is far more reliable, consistent, mentally stronger, etc.
