we'll need some high level coercion and outright bribery to get this done

Yep, a team with CL football will come in, make a -20 mil bid to what we offered and the player will make it happen. We have no chance. We then move in for Abraham at 40 mil.

city and Chelsea are the main big fish I could see being interested and capable of paying

The only reason why I think this is a remote possibility is that City and Chelsea are distracted by Kane and Haaland so might just leave the door open. Regardless this is unlikely.

Is this guy better than present day Auba?

he's always looked like dybala-style striker that looks best playing off an out-and-out centre forward. don't know if he could fulfil that centre role that lacas played for us because he does go to ground pretty easily

Better than Auba last season, not as good as Auba in any of his other seasons for us.

would be a good almost like-for-like replacement of Laca.

He is like thrice the player Laca can even imagine to be in his prime

Could just about handle keeping Xhaka if we got him and Odegaard.

atletico rumoured to be interested too. if they can afford it, we go from slim chance to no chance

Slightly worse goals per minute currently than laca. He doesn't look like he has the hold up or combination play of laca. He's shorter than laca and less solid. Looks like he benifits from having Lukaku to play off.

What's the hype about? I haven't seen much of him.

Regardless of the two minutes per goal he needs less, Laca has 13 goals and 2 assists in 31 games, Lautaro 17 goals and 10 assists in 38 matches. Stats don't tell the full story anyway, Lautaro this season has significantly more goals and assists than last but he was overall better in 2020.

Hes a much better dribbler than Laca, not lightning quick but rapid enough to beat a man on the counter, more composed in front of goal. Typical South American forward that he wills the ball into goal, Laca batters himself in midfield but becomes timid in front of goal. If you wanted to compare him to someone you'd pick a forward like Alexis not a striker like Laca.

This guy is world class. Get it done.

That just means Joao Felix will shake free.

It is a crying shame we are not in Europe, as he would be worth every single penny.

Dream signing

Lovely quick feet, agility and sharp finishing.

Not sure whether it would translate to England though. English idiot refs would just let neanderthals kick him out of games.

Seems very unlikely, but this would be the kind of signing that could create some proper excitement and buzz and hopefully move us closer to playing attractive football again.

Laca looks finished his knees are gone. So he's not comfortable. Still out preforming this guy Goals's per minute with no knees in a side that's not creating many chnaces and like you say laca isn't comfortable taking chances now.

None of his dribbling looked great on Vids and his finishing didn't look spectacular just good. Alexis was lightening fast, a brilliant dribbler and had great finishing. You could see it all straight away. This guy can finish but with him being small he just looks like he'd be eaten alive in the prem. That's just initial impression though

Based off highlights I share some of speedy's outlook. He is the same size as Nketiah and I'm more impressed with latter's dribbling and pace. Lautaro's all-round game, flair and instinct give a really decent impression though. Trust the eyes of some those on here that have watched him more regularly overall and could get behind this.
