I remember people arguing that Saliba need to bide his time when he comes back from loan as he's not displacing White at CB. What a masterstroke it was by Tet to throw Saliba straight in and move White instead.

Gazza M No way. In White's 2024 form, sure. But there's a reason why his 2023 form was explained with him being injured. Not saying that's inaccurate, just saying it wouldn't have been made into a point if he was playing like he is now.

Claudius don't think Saliba has been top of his game in 2024. It's not like he's been terrible but he seems to lose focus a little at times. Understandable given his age but definitely think Gabriel is the superior defender at this point in time.

Don Pacifico I agree with you. I would go one step ahead and say that Gabriel is our player of the season and one of the best players in the team.
What the fuck happened in the first few games of the season when he was on the bench, I will never know.

HomeSteak yeah, was thinking that after the City game (where again, I think Gabriel was better than Saliba). It's between him and Rice but I would also favour Gabriel.

I think Saliba tends to be both more eye-catching and pleasing on the eye, but hasn't quite nailed down the basics in the way Gabriel has.

I find it hard to look beyond Odegaard really. Rice and Gabriel are in the mix for consistently being at a high level, but what Odegaard brings is just irreplaceable for me, even if in certain games he hasn't been able to shine like we know he can.

I don't think Saka is anywhere near a conversation for player of the year as it happens.

Basically, I don't think you could argue if PotS went to any of Gabriel, Rice and Odegaard.

Rice for me, probably - for a player to shut down chat about a £100m price tag as quickly and as emphatically as he has is really remarkable. And more to the point, he addressed specific needs Arsenal had. Love him to bits.
