The rationale made zero sense. Fans were upset that we were getting a right back because we did not have a central midfielder in place - and nobody here could make the clear link of how one impacted the other.
Nobody can explain why they thought we had tons more of money laying around for both either.
This summer we couldn't buy a winger because Elneny got injured. We don't have a separate wallet for each position.
Edit: Also, 😆 @ "people were upset that we were getting a right back" when everyone was screaming for a right back. We chose to have Cedric in our backline instead of Saliba. We don't need to discuss whether that was the right decision again, but acting like you don't understand how people could think that spending money somewhere leaves less money left for other positions is just disingenuous.
