Just so we're clear, I've been in the front line of White's cheerleaders on here. I still don't think he's an amazing attacking fullback, but even in the past few posts I've hailed his contributions.

Still this sniffiness persisting around White, who was singled out for praise by Wrighty on Saturday night's MotD and it's very hard to understand.
I think a lot of it comes directly from a sense of injustice relating to Saliba. It was very evident in many online spaces that White was never accepted because of that early last year. He took a lot of heat in the Brentford game and never recovered amongst that crowd. He has one of the biggest perception - reality gaps I have seen.
That, the way that Saliba situation fed the Arteta-out agenda, and the way White's £50m fee fed the Arteta-out agenda.
We had a whole season of people swearing that Saliba would mutiny because Arteta was such a dickhead, and that signing White had literally taken the money out of Edu's hands for a deal on a central midfielder. I'm still traumatised by those debates, but our current league position is taking the edge off my pain.
