Spot on about his issues. A top CM brings speed of thought to the game. Thiago, Partey, KDB etc., all these guys do this. This guy is too tentative. He might look good in Ligue 1. But a loan would require two new CMs coming in

Yeah needs a loan. Not good enough for Arsenal and Arsenal's too good to give him the opportunities to get good enough.

It's regrettable but he won't play in serious matches the way he's going except for during injury or suspension crises, and while that's the case neither club nor player are doing well out of the relationship.

We have to be comfortable with shit not working out. Saliba comes in and looks like a don. Ramsdale, White, Zinny, and Tomi too. Not everyone will slot in beautifully. If we see a bad fit, we should move on quickly for everyone’s sake. This isn’t like Elneny where we know we’ve got an inexpensive veteran who is 20th on the squad rotation. This is an important role.

Agreed. He's not panning out, so he needs a loan or a transfer. Exactly which is not too important since he's a fair way from what we need currently. I can't see us recouping £15–20m or whatever we paid for him, and whoever we bring in to compensate will only push him further down the order.

To his credit, Lokonga's saying exactly that himself. The kid wants to play and no doubt will develop well when he finds the right level.

Frustration at few opportunities is one thing, but to be fair to the guy I don't read that as saying he should be selected ahead of any of our first XI trio, which would be absurd.

I think he's just correctly identified the trouble he's in, which is that he's not good enough to break in, and therefore not breaking in to get good enough.

Nah, loan him out and if he doesn't pull up trees on loan, flog him off for £10m or whatever we can get. It's a little disappointing he's on £50k a week, but that's the way it goes these days.

Yeah it's harsh to judge Sambi at the moment because his confidence is clearly shot. He was poor at his strong points never mind aspects he needs to improve upon.

I don't think he has a future here though, because I don't think there's quite enough about his game that suggests to me he'll ever be my ideal midfielder. Maybe with a good loan he could develop into Gundo type, but I don't see it right now. I'd sell if we can get a good fee otherwise loan him to Serie A with a view to selling.

Needs consistent game time to show what he's really capable of I think. Whether that's on loan or with us, I'm not fussy but definitely think it's premature to write him off.

Personally, I think we've mismanaged him.
