Makes it all the more ludicrous given they came out before the season and said that contact would no longer automatically constitute a penalty, citing examples of penalties given last year where there was significantly more contact than in this scenario.
I didn't watch the Liverpool game but I understand old Mike Dean decided to use the 'let the game flow' guidance by awarding numerous free kicks (i.e. not letting the game flow) but not awarding any yellow cards.
The PL is almost unwatchable with these referees.
