Didn't think of the manager, would replace Arteta in a heartbeat with him. Also if Granovskaia is the one responsible for their transfers I'd get her to replace Edu immediately, both much more important to their success than any single player, also the gap to the hacks in place for us is bigger than any player transfer would be able to bridge.

Tbf the person most important for their success just got sanctioned. Every other person and position at Chelsea has been easily interchangable for the last 20 years of their success.

I wouldn't be mad if Chelsea collapse for the next few years. They had 20 years of bought success, now they can have a year or two of turmoil. However, as some mentioned before I expect them to find a quick solution and a new owner soon. While that prevents them from administration and really big problems, do we see any other new owner being this involved in the club and investing as much time and money into them as Roman did? I think there's a good chance of them getting closer to being top 4 challangers in the next years then competing for titles.

Pretty much this. Can't be that hard to be a director of football type figure if you're allowed to accumulate £900m in losses and acquire 1.5bn in extra funding on tap. They've done well to generate funds by hoarding youth players but aside from it being a questionable practice it's about to be curtailed anyway by the new rules.

They've wasted a lot of money on the first team recently too.

Their turnaround started before he was signed and even after the transfer he started his first game yesterday. Good transfer for them but while I take the piss out of him often this has to be credited to Howe mostly.

It's all down to Eddie Howe. He's done a great job turning them around. Bruno has hardly played.

I thought/hoped we’d be up for a third place challenge with Chelsea if we were able to put another few wins together and keep the momentum going. With so much uncertainty now I worry that either we might not get a good chance to have a proper good go at aiming for third place, or if we do get it, that we’ll be dismissed as benefiting from their situation.

If it's so easy to do then surely we should be able to do better than we are now at selling our unwanted players. We let Mkhitaryan go for free and he's Roma's key player for two years now. Auba who's clearly still able to play at a high level we even paid to leave. Chelsea signed Diego Costa, got two titles out of him wringing him out and publicly fell out with him and still got double the fee back from Atletico. Morata was the ultimate flop at Chelsea and they still got their outlay back.

People need to separate Chelsea's transfer dealings from their overall business model. The massive influx of money from before can't be ignored for the latter of course but to judge their staff's level of work it's irrelevant, there's no one in Europe who gets more value for their players than them.

Yup. It wasn't hard to improve on Bruce to be fair, but within a couple of games the change was night to day. They attacked and pressed with so much more purpose it's unreal, looked like dead cert relegation candidates a decent lower midtable side overnight.

Fair enough, I did see something that said they've far and away out performed everyone in terms of what they bring in from player sales. Though again a lot of that will be down to the aforementioned hoarding of talents.

Their marketing for players in unbelievable. Broja scored 6 goals in 23 starts for Southampton and they want 40m for him. We are going to lose Nketiah for free in comparison.

It's really not just down to hoarding talents, they excel at selling all kinds of players. I'd imagine there's some fuckery going on ie account cooking because I really can't see how one club so clearly outperforms everyone in that aspect. Maybe they allow clubs to draw sales out until infinity, maybe they pay parts of the fee back in blood diamonds but it's outrageous how well they're doing in that aspect.

There are plenty of well known examples so I'll pick another one in Kurt Zouma. Was never a genuine top class prospect but a decently talented youngster who they bought for 14m in 2014. He then has mostly middling to mediocre performances for them then tears his ACL in 2016. Somehow Chelsea manage to loan him just half a year after returning to Stoke for 8m (without a buying option) who get relegated, then they secure another 8m loan to Everton the year after. After returning from Everton Chelsea keep him on their books because they're hit with a transfer ban, then they sell him for 35m to West Ham last summer. No other club manages to get even close to 50m+ for a frankly shit defender bought for 14m with a torn ACL, no one.

Yeah, I'm really not big into conspiracy theories but some of the dealings Chelsea manage to do are very weird.
Anyway, if they (hopefuly) don't find a solution until the summer, they'l have 20-30 players come back from loan that they then won't be able to sell or loan out. Would be amazing to see all the crooked shit they were doing backfire on them. Not having high hopes it will happen tho. Where there is money, there are solutions.
