I remembered they had fined them for doing it but after checking they actually did a 180 on it, so forget I said anything.
Their anti-racist shtick (it's obviously not anything more than that to UEFA/FIFA) was based on real world implications, black players started leaving the pitch in protest at being abused. Not saying there isn't homophobic abuse in football grounds as well but it's not specifically directed at players, there's no equivalent to full stadiums making monkey noises and calling players niggers and to mind no one left the pitch because he heard the word faggot. I don't have an issue with pride flags in football, still I can see why the two aren't treated the same, especially with plenty of countries being opposed to gay rights.
