I was surprised that Sterling stayed on the pitch for whole 90 minutes.

I thought he was quite trash and should have been hauled off for Sancho at some point.

Grealish was shit when he came on. Made runs and passed to nowhere. Gervinho-esque.

I thought you were fully on the Foden train?

Anyway Sterling is still Englands best in those positions. I'd start him before Sancho and Grealish every time. I think a positive manager would probably drop Mount and play Foden through the centre with one of those 2 plus Sterling.

I think Foden is an incredibly talented player. But those 2 players are game changers. I would kill to have either one at Arsenal. And you’re right about Sterling. You can actually take those 4 players, to be honest, and put them up front in any combination and be good to go.

Sterling has been pretty bad for City this season, but was good against Croatia. Nothing special yesterday, but nobody else was either.

Those are the options. LW has an abundance. Foden isn’t a winger and Southgate is shoehorning him in.

Fact is it will be hard to please everyone. But he must perform. England if they win next two could meet Spain in quarterfinal. That’s a match I want to see
