Yeah I think he has to cover the angle instead of worrying about the far post, which was covered by a defender anyway. A yard or two to the right would have been enough. If De Bruyne manages to put it in the opposite corner anyway then there's not much you can do, but you can close down the only good goalscoring opportunity he has.

Denmark sending Schmeichel up must be the most stupid tactical decision I've seen in a while. As it stands they're through if they win against Russia while if they wouldve conceded thwy would've had to win by two. Surely the manager must simply not have thought about that.

You are totally excluding the possibility of Finland getting a draw against a weakened Belgian team who is already top?

The chance of Belgium winning against Finland is much greater than Schmeichel scoring on a corner.

Edit: Plus 3 points is very likely enough to go through even if Finland win.

Isn't Finland already on 3 points? Denmark is on 0, Finland just need a draw.

EDIT: Wait Finland is on 0 GD while Denmark is on 2. Denmark won't go through with a 1 goal victory if Finland loses by 1 goal only to Belgium.

Dumfries would be a seriously smart buy for RB and so is van Aanholt for backup LB if we can't get a young guy in.

Good shout. He's been very impressive in attack and physically but positionally been all over the place. Didn't look all that at PSV either, doesn't mean that he wouldn't improve us at RB though to be fair.

Yeah a decent career but I remember people talking about him as if he was the next big thing. If you look at the Team of the Tournament he's probably the weakest link in there.

Yeah but he had a great Euros and came to to PL and flopped badly. I think Dumfries could do the same.

If I were a betting man (and I am) I would punt a few quid on Isak to score today. I think there's even better money to be had on Forsberg though, who aside from being an attacking player is rumoured to be the new penalty taker.
