IMO this summer transfer window has been a cluster f*ck as it has failed to resolve either of the issues regarding a purge and rebuild, let alone having a team that is balanced, fit for purpose and ready to hit the ground running. Further to this we still have no idea as to what shape Arteta is looking at in regards to either midfield or attack.
EDIT - one of my concerns is the later it gets in the transfer window the more we may double down on players deemed to be 'EPL ready' so as to make up for lost time for players to adapt, and the likely inflated fees that go with that. IMO the priority should be the player is fit for purpose in the first instance. Then we should consider their quality and then if they are from outside the EPL we should consider if they have played outside their domestic league, as IMO doing so means they are familiar with an adaptation process.
EDIT - Considering we were told our plans had been put in place before the end of last season, the phrase 'either shit or get off the pot' comes to mind.
