@Claude But we never could attract managers already at super clubs or that was wanted by super clubs before either. We've never been as big as RM, Bayern and Barcelona that's got nothing to to with our current situation.
Gazidis sold us a dream that we would be one of the world’s biggest clubs. When the Kroenke’s joined us we were a top 6 club in the world. Now we are around number 12. We have shed stature. If Roman had bought Arsenal, we would be the biggest club in England right now without a doubt. Only City would compete with us.
That could be said of any club Abramovich bought and then invested over 1bn into players, let alone the turn over of managers in his pursuit of titles and silverware.
IMO that the UCL Final is MC v CFC is telling.
That said I'm not sure I agree with QA in that IMO we could have signed both Klopp and Guardiola had we been more ambitious as a club, and IMO Sarri would have been a better fit post AW than Emery. One of our issues re club culture is that we don't look to sign who we want/need (players or staff), as opposed to who is available and willing to work within our established framework on and off the pitch, rather than someone willing to challenge our status quo.
