White was obviously badly wanted given the numerous bids we made and the amount we went up to. Whoever was first choice exactly.

And lots have moaned about White only being 6'1 or 6'2 and not the biggest, but Kounde is 5'10, and from what I've seen of him, very good on the ball but not lauded for his actual defending. Add in White's Premier League experience and, provided their talent is roughly even, he seems the better value signing.

Kounde is not only lauded for his game on the ball. Think his most impressive asset is his ridiculous leap, he wins so many headers he has no business winning its Unreal. He's as complete as they come at centre back

Also I want White to succeed because he's an Arsenal player but no one in the entire world considers their talent to be roughly even, come on. We're starting to sound like the scouse when they used to talk about how Jay Spearing was better than Walcott, Joe Allen the best CM in the league etc

Almost every source reported that we wanted Kounde early on and had numerous bids rejected. Then Tapsoba. After both were dead in the water then we chased White. They are all the same sources anyway so they were consistent. We wanted a CB but most of us didn't believe that as Saliba was coming back.

And when it goes wrong at Tottenham and he leaves next summer, and I expect it probably will because it usually does when a rift like this occurs, they'll struggle badly to get the money they want for a 29 year old another year closer to the end of his contract.

Mbappe to Real Madrid is imminent, what a signing for them. Yes they're paying big money now but next summer every club in the world would be bending over backwards offering him insane money so they probably didn't want to get involved in that. Also could sign him on better wages this summer than next summer.

Gotta give it to R.Madrid, showing why they're the biggest club in the world. Been patient and chipping away all summer, eventually got PSG to give up their star asset. Which as clubs like Barca have found out is easier said than done. To be fair if he had longer on his contract PSG would be rejecting the offer.

Reckon he'd still do the business for them, they create chances for fun and need someone with a killer instinct and movement up top. He may be getting on but not many who can do it better than him.

Exactly. He doesn't even have to develop as a player, just by doing in a Liverpool shirt what he does already at Brighton will see him recognised as one of the best holding midfielders in the country. Wonder what the fee will be if he does go?

From what I can see it's being reported by the Express and some random bloke on twitter. I doubt his value would skyrocket even if he did move though, it's a bit like Ben White, any purchase price is going to include a big enough premium to negate everything else.

Liverpool seem to have settled for a temporary spell at the top. As things stand they've spent a total of around 100m over 3 season. Mane has already started to wane and Salah's days are numbered.
