If that's the case then Arteta is overthinking it. We're better than Benfica and we'll beat them if we manage to get Odegaard, ESR and Saka more into the game. That's really all there is to it and by playing around them we're doing Benfica a favour.
Agreed - I don't think it is deliberate to do so but we're being tunnel visioned on the pitch.
I also think we are looking for the player to start the run before passing, rather than trusting to make the pass 1st time.
