kroenke is a soulless piece of shit, but i have a hard time blaming him directly.
prior to his arrival, we were barely spending money as we prepared to move to the emirates, and we were comfortably finishing top 4 every season under wenger.
over the last few seasons, we've spent huge sums of money that would have broken our transfer record pre-ozil by many multiples. we just spent poorly in a lot of cases. thats on edu and the setup prior to him making those decisions.
we paid a fortune for pepe, we spent big money on partey, we've given huge contracts to auba and others. we're not fucked because we havent spent money and consistently sold our best players for profit like we did at the tail end of wenger's run, when we had to sell players like van judas and fabregas because they didnt believe in our plan.
its not the dollars or lack of investment. its the people making the football decisions. maybe kroenke deserves the blame for allowing that structure to be put in place, or not holding those people properly accountable, but we've overhauled that entire structure (which a lot of people were in favor of at the time), but now we've just had no real stability there, with egghead leaving and raul not lasting. edu doesnt appear to be the answer either.
