It’s clear we are progressing. A lot of what Arteta is setting out to achieve relates to a change in culture. That’s massive at clubs - look out how our high complacent earners have stunk the place out here and at clubs like United.
Lean squad - ok we need a few smart additions to take us to the next level but we have to be somewhat patient for them to become available. Bar Vlahovic, nobody switched clubs in this window who would move the needle for us.
We have top youth prospects who are progressing at a decent rate. Our football is starting to click - see City at home.
We have a relatively kind set of fixtures remaining and are in the hunt for top four.
If the worst case plays out we call it time and move for someone like Potter. Make no mistake, the club is in the best shape it’s been in for years
I'm sorry, but how is it clear we're progressing? We're out of all cup competitions by January, not in Europe at all and while we're in the mix for 4th, we just gutted our squad while Spurs have a proven manager and just bought two players that will most likely start for them. And all this in a year where they sacked their manager, as did ManU, whose best young player has just been arrested for battering and raping his girlfriend, while we play about one game a month. Not my definition of progress.
A change in culture? He's achieved that all right, how anyone can think that's a good thing when it seemingly only relates to us bending over backwards to stroke our twat manager's ego is beyond me, but you do you.
Our football's starting to click, because we played well against City and still lost? Who the fuck are we that that's enough? That's what Liverpool fans told themselves when they played their one good game a year against United in the Dalglish years. Nevermind that we've been shit ever since, and for most of the season before that.
Nobody that moved would have moved the needle for us when we've got Lokonga starting and Xhaka's still here? You think Bruno wouldn't have been a noticeable improvement on either of those two?
Some of you guys go on about being happy that we finally got rid of "garbage players" and bad apples like having Chambers or Maitland-Niles on the bench made any difference whatsoever. It wasn't Chambers' fault we failed to score against the worst team in the league or got smashed by Liverpool once again. But now that he's gone, we can finally reach for greatness once again! For all the positivity you guys are preaching, you're quick to bash our players as garbage and bad for the culture, positivity only seems to apply to the prat on the sidelines and our yank owners.
