Yeah, I think you're both right. Firstly, the amount we invest isn't independent of results on the pitch, but I don't see them giving up just yet. And secondly, if they give Arteta and Edu funds for a new striker I don't think they'll necessarily produce the result we need for good value.

In days gone by that would have been a given, seems like a far fetched dream under Arteta, despite spending the most money in the summer. No Value for money.

We have to win virtually all our games until we play City in the new year, and I'd argue we a result there too. Losing to United was one thing, but losing to Everton really was a crime.

I don't think Arteta is doing a great job right now, but it's hard to control games and win when you're getting close to zero individual quality from your strikers and central midfielders.

Which is why I wanted a new spine signed last summer as being 'fit for purpose' as being THE priority.
That said I still think Arteta has continued to frakk things up by not changing the shape to suit the resources available even now.

It's why I've no idea how people (read: qwiss) think the league is so strong at the moment. City and since we gave them a leg up Liverpool are clearly ahead of the rest, Chelsea aren't as strong but still thereabouts, then the rest of the league is just a giant steaming dump. All that money and the football on show is an absolute travesty, United are the worst offenders but really bar Brighton and West Ham nobody is even close to getting value for what they've spent

A decent coach comes in and we'll look like Chelsea immediately going into touching distance with them

It's more that "strong" and "shit" can be relative compared to others. Yeah United are shit but apparently Atalanta are even more so. And yes obviously that's in absolute terms, not in value for money-terms. The latter wouldn't make sense in comparing how "strong" leagues are otherwise even the Norwegian league would be considered stronger than the PL.

Atalanta have had a difficult start to the season but they've been a lot better domestically, there are more games to think Atalanta are good and had a rough spell in the CL than the other way around. It's why nobody thinks Juve are better than Chelsea despite Juve finishing 1st in their group.

Value for money terms would be a ridiculous way to look at it. The PL is the richest league and thats whats made it the strongest.

Just wondering when the club will take a look at how much money he is costing the club in terms of lost transfer fees with the hatchet job he is doing on players - Guendouzi, Torreira, Mavropanos, Pepe, PEA, AMN, Holding, Mari, Chambers, Nketiah, Kolasinac - all are losing value by the way Arteta is treating them in the media and/or by not playing them. Similarly the previous freeze out re Ozil, Mustafi etc. As such he's giving Edu & Co an absolute hospital pass with his very own version of a scorched earth player management style.
