I think player inexperience is valid, not so much about our squad/team being the youngest but more so in the lack of time together in regards to our back5.
I agree managerial inexperience is more of a factor in that this is an issue from before this season. I also agree there are man management issues that not only impacts team selection, but also potential re-sale value on those players no longer in favour.
I'd also add the inexperience in squad building is also having an impact. I'm again referring to the failure to date to complete the rebuild, the failure to address the balance issues in both midfield and attack, and the lack of a spine that is providing neither experience nor being 'fit for purpose'.
I have mentioned previously that what experience we do have is top heavy and weighted in the attack where they can become isolated and unable to influence our play of the game, and even less so when they are struggling for form or injuries. Our 'experienced' players in the starting XI are PEA, Laca, Xhaka and Partey, of whom only Partey was signed by the current management team (Arteta & Edu), however he is struggling for form and may not be well suited to his current role in a 2 CM Double Pivot system.
Lastly I think there is a question regarding our shape as not suiting this style with the players on the pitch. Arteta has talked about wanting to play a 433 and despite spending about 150m in the summer we have yet to see any evidence of change.
