From The Guardian about Republicans in Texas trying to enact a bill to restrict the ability to vote -
"The bill would have made it a state jail felony for a public official to proactively solicit or send vote by mail applications, restricted the use of drop boxes, banned 24-hour and drive-thru voting and lowered the bar for overturning an election, among other measures."
This is in the land of the free, the great promoters of democracy.
What a fucking joke of a system.
Here's a thought. Hold elections on a weekend. Make each public school a polling place. Hold a cake stall at the same time to fund those underfunded public resources. You could even consider making it compulsory to turn up to the polling place (or send in a pre-poll vote).
If only there were other countries that did this so you could see if it worked or not.
They're probably socialist countries though so screw that.
