Mari, Tierney and Pepe are having a good game today, with Pepe as the standout performer in my opinion, but you also wish he would come through at some point and actually deliver on the good things he does. There's a very clever cross to Nelson for instance, but the ball is slightly underhit and too high and bounces awkwardly, which means Nelson can't shoot. There's a run in behind that gives Pepe himself a great opportunity to either shoot or tap to Auba, but he dribbles one time too many, brings the ball out of angle and then gets dispossessed literally five yards from goal. Etc. He has to make better final decisions. If only one ball had gone in we'd be in a great position and it would open up more space for him to play.
Still, it's an absolute joke that Willian ever kept him out of the team. He created more good opportunities in 45 minutes today than Willian has done in the past 15 games.
