If money is no issue what's your view on Vlahovic?

I think Vlahovic had a worse season last year than Aubameyang did. I know that's not what you asked, but I've kept thinking about it all summer as I've seen the hype reach insanity-induced levels.

They're on different trajectories as players, but in absolute terms there's no contest. One's a top class striker and the other is a bloke with half a good season under his belt. I think the fact that Vlahovic at his career best wasn't as good as Aubameyang at his worst in a decade says everything about why we should keep Aubameyang. Auba isn't getting younger, but we're not looking for another striker who can hit 15 goals. We're looking for one who can hit 30. I'd back the bloke we have over anyone on the current market. We can't be thinking about what Vlahovic might (or might not) be doing in a few years when we're drowning in the here and now.

What.. That just sounds like going way overboard the other way because of the "insanity-induced levels of hype". Auba's season was bad, and not just by his standards.

Not disagreeing that Auba may be the better player because this season probably doesn't reflect his quality, but that Auba had the better season seems like a pretty out there statement.

Well I watched Vlahovic, and I really don't think it's a stretch to say that Aubameyang had a better season than a guy in a much weaker league who scored all but three of his goals in the 21 half of the 20/21 season. Let me rephrase it to moderate the tone though: there certainly wasn't much between them one way or the other.

Vlahovic is a very interesting player, but you'd be paying for what he might turn into in the future, not what he is in the present. And paying world class transfer fees for players that are not world class is exactly how we got here to begin with.

French media are reporting that Lacazette's agent has been been looking for potential suitors this summer but no club has shown any interest in signing him on a permanent deal.

agree with klaus to be wary of betting the farm on vlahovic with less than 6 months of good form, especially if we lose aubamaeyang. could be a master-stroke, but more likely to be a disaster, especially in the immediate term.

Viera will have a really good striker on his hands if Nketiah's transfer to Palace goes over. Liking the potential move for him too.

I hope we make sure to get a buyback clause if Eddie goes. He looked ready to explode in preseason right before he got injured. We should have tied him down with a new contract more than a year ago.

Agree was looking sharp and think he could have done damage in our first two. Extension would be really handy to have in current perspective, but previously with those goal drought streaks he put together, and a degree bad luck, I certainly didn't have the foresight.

IMO a part of that is likely as a result of him being in the last 12 months on contract and he'll be a free agent next summer.  Wouldn't be surprised if he signed an agreement in Jan to move next summer.

Some talk out of Italy that Juve have made contact with the view to have PEA replacing Ronaldo.

We'd be dumb enough to sell him too.

Martinez v Leno mk2.

Everton are after a right back and are looking to sign our best ones

AMN is going nowhere at arsenal. probably in his best interest to leave

yeah he's not going on loan to everton to play RB. he could do that here.

That would be outrageous.

I highly doubt that. Allegri loves Morata and he will play.

Also Allegri had made it clear that Dybala would be the talisman around who the team would be built around and that was when Ronaldo was still a Juventus player.

Only exit that matters: Arteta

Edu needs to go with him as well.
